Warendorf - Contemporary Kitchen by Maxine @ Farnham Furnishers
This stunning contemporary project was a joy to work on.
The clients wanted to bring in some warmth with accents of real wood. The furniture is by Warendorf, with the Knotty Oak veneered wood giving texture and warmth, and the Opaque white matt lacquer, which is a soft white. To pick up on the polished concrete floor we added the Silestone Desert sliver which has subtle striations in white, again picking up on the white in the furniture.
The small niche was used to create a floating drinks area, rather than another tall unit, the height worked to follow the underside of the wall units and the grey accent on the wall runs in line to draw the sofa area into the kitchen area. All credit to the genius idea of the client. Team work.
A pocket door hides the ovens, with a push to open fridge and larder, all creating a seamless look.
Spekva wood on the breakfast bar again adds the warmth, especially when seated and using the bar, it is warmer to the touch than a stone surface. This creates a social space as well as casual dining.
The overall design is simple and not over bearing, working in harmony with the rest of the room and allowing the client to add pops of colour here and there, without clashing, the perfect backdrop.
