Handmade Lay-on Shaker

by Rebecca at Farnham Furnishers

This is a beautifully crafted hand made shaker kitchen with a light contemporary feel to reflect the vibrant artistic family home.

Situated in a cute listed cottage we were limited on space, with a listed staircase to work around and no one wall in the original part of the kitchen square or plumb, we just had the small beautifully constructed side extension adding light and height into a wee space with a straight line.

It was decided to keep the kitchen in 2 sections, the wet run in the old part of the house with a Butlers sink, slim dishwasher, reduced depth storage to help maximize space and quartz stone  worktop, with a couple of Oak wall shelves framing the window to provide extra storage and character.

Still in the old part of the cottage, a tall pull out pantry, an integrated fridge freezer and an oven stack which we built around the listed newel post and stair treads.

Into the new section of the cottage we proved the family with drawers, magic corner storage and pull out bin.  Installing a BORA vented hob under the window and venting straight out the wall.  Finishing the hob run off with a heritage Oak worktop to bring the two sections together.

Another wonderful project for the loveliest of family's.  A true pleasure to work with x
